The Many Festivities In Venice Add A Charm To Your Vacation In Venice

Whatever the time you select for your Venice vacations, you will find the place abuzz with some festival. It seems that Venice is always celebrating something. Just to give you an idea if you are particularly interested in Venice Festivals, spring is prime time in the city around Easter is the most happening time of the year and it is really difficult to get accommodation in Venice if you have not planned in advance. Actually the activity starts to pick up around Christmas time and just carries on, through the New Year. This is another factor out of many others which make a vacation in Venice a dream come true.

Then of course there is the Venice carnival or the Carnevale as the locals call it. It is a celebration that lasts several days and is one of the prime attractions of the city.

Summers in Venice can be a bit uncomfortable for Vacation in Venice with the humidity rising. It starts to get pleasant again by September. If peace and quiet and an opportunity to study the monuments is what you are looking for, try October for your Venice vacations. The crowds have left, its not hot and you will get the isolation that you are looking for. Moreover, you will easily get a cheap accommodation in Venice around this time.

The aqua alta or high water starts to make its presence felt during November. Flooding in the city will occur regularly from November and go on all through December. The city has adapted excellently to the water. Areas where water enters are clearly marked, sidewalks are raised and sirens warn the inhabitants as the water enters. Most city web sites have links to the meteorological pages that give out precisely when the next event will occur. Be warned, winters can be cold in Venice and wading in the high water is not recommended for enjoying your Venice Vacations since the water is anything but clean.

There is another reason you must hurry to visit Venice for a memorable Vacation in Venice, Italy. The city would not be around for long. Early in the 20th century, local industry began pumping water out from the ground. So much was extracted that the city began to sink. The ground floors of a number of buildings are now unusable and inhabitants have had to shift into higher floors.

The government is trying two methods to combat this. In the first, they are constructing a number of inflatable gates around the city. When the tide threatens to rise beyond 110 cm, these will be raised to stop the sea water from coming in. This project which incidentally has raised the hackles of environmentalists will be over by 2011. The other solution consists of pumping the water back into the soil and elevating Venice once again. In any case, the sinking of Venice seems to have been arrested with the banning of artesian wells since the 1960s.

You CAN Select The Best Pressure Washer!

Which pressure washer is right for you? It's hard to decide - given the many different models and manufacturers out there. In this article we would like to outline some things that you should take into consideration when it comes time to choose.

Where should you start? Perhaps the best place is to begin by thinking about how often you will need to clean with your pressure washer. Will it be once a week or less? Then you can probably get by with one designed for residential or homeowner use. If you will need to do your cleaning several times a week, you need a unit that can handle the workload - and that may mean a commercial unit.

Also: Consider just what you will be cleaning with your new pressure washer. Will you need to tackle surfaces that are grease or oil-covered? Then you should look into purchase of a steam pressure washer - the steam is really effective in cutting through that greasy gunk. At the very minimum, you will need a pressure washer that heats the water - a cheaper model that uses room temperature water will not be effective on grease and oil.

If you will be using your pressure washer primarily on your back porch or to clean up the family SUV, then you will find that a unit that develops only 2000 PSI or less will suit you just fine.

On the other hand, if you are going to be cleaning things like the brickwork of your home, or a large truck, then you will need a pressure washer that develops a medium pressure of around 2000-3000 PSI.

Then there are those monsters that develop over 3000 PSI of pressure - what about them? Well, they are (as you might guess) designed for the heavy-duty cleaning you encounter in industrial and commercial environments (such as car repair shops, factories, truck depots, etc.).

Many residential users choose a commercial-grade unit anyway, however. They get a pressure washer that will last longer and have a better warranty. This is because they are made with better quality components - especially the water pump.

A few final thoughts: Don't forget to ask about servicing - what will you need to do if it breaks down? In addition, make sure that you buy all the accessories you need - not all of them may be included in the kit. And please, practice safe washing procedures: wear goggles, be careful of hot water and steam, and NEVER point the stream of water at others.

Acid reflux in children

It is well known by all of us that babies do spit up. For that, in the last years pediatricians have prescribed acid-suppressing drugs such as Prilosec and Zantac for babies with acid reflux. The most disappointing news is that no one can prove that these drugs are efficient.

Many studies were done in order to prove the efficiency of the mentioned drugs. A doctor called Ajay Kaul, which is a pediatric gastroenterologist in Cincinnati, tested 30 babies that were under 1 year old. 10 out of the 30 infants tested were dosed with a proton-pump inhibitor such as Prilosec, other 10 were treated with a H2 blocker like Zantac and the rest of the babies were untreated. Using a small wireless sensor that was introduced into the esophagus through the nose our specialist found out that the drugs did not reduce significantly the number of the spit-up incidents. His conclusion was that for the doses that he prescribed there was no noticeable difference between the treated and the untreated babies.

His research proved what many pediatric gastroenterologists have suspected.

Other specialists agreed with the fact that a very small percentage of babies with acid reflux will later develop problems such as respiratory ailments including asthma. More than that, specialists still argue about whether the acid reflux is the cause for later respiratory ailments or not.

It is also good to know the specialists opinion that says that acid reflux is normal for the vast majority of children and it does not require medication.

A common advice for parents is not to treat their children with medications. They should also know that babies reflux and they are going to outgrow it. A doctor from the SUNNY medical school in Buffalo called Robert Baker observed that nowadays parents often treat their children with medication. He says that parents should know that more that 50 percent of the children that have not passed the age of three months do spit at least once a day and 5 percent of the children between 10 and 12 months do the same thing. The question that rises know is whether the treatment will make children less irritable or the action will be seen only in parents eyes.

After the research that proved no effect of the medication in young babies with acid reflux, the same doctor began another study. This time he chooses a number of 100 subjects but the results were similar.

Using Ground Source Heat Pumps In Greenhouses

A Ground Source Heat Pump System

A ground source heat pump in a greenhouse would keep the air within the greenhouse around 70F year round; it can do this because the earths ground temperature below the freeze line is a constant 70 F.

The ground source heat pump in a greenhouse may have either a closed or an open loop water system depending on the terrain and soil composition; if a pond or other consistent water source is available the system may be able to utilize that, water is good conductor of heat and cool.

A closed loop system for a ground source heat pump in a greenhouse will have pipes running from the condenser unit, into the ground, then back to the condenser unit; inside the pipes there is some sort of refrigerant depending on the exact model, which is heated or cooled by the ground (or water depending on the case) and the heated refrigerant heats the air inside the condenser unit as it circulates, which the fan is able to disperse within the greenhouse.

An open loop ground source heat pump in a greenhouse will also circulate pipes full of refrigerant to heat or cool the air within the greenhouse; the difference between the systems is the presence of moving water. A moving body of water is able to heat or cool the pipes in the water with a renewing source rather than a stagnant source of water; air can even be used to heat or cool the pipes of refrigeration in some cases.

In a greenhouse, a ground source heat pump will help keep plants at a comfortable temperature until spring returns or it can be reversed to keep an overheating greenhouse cool if temperatures get too hot.

A ground source heat pump in greenhouses make sense because the 70 air combined with the intensified heat of the sun by the greenhouse panels create a warm environment to grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, and other foliage. Furthermore the panels of a greenhouse make the most of the available sunlight by dispersing it evenly to the entire greenhouse.

Ground source heat pumps in greenhouses can be solar powered to make the entire greenhouse self sufficient; because the whole idea of using a greenhouse is to trap solar energy, adding enough solar panels to run the condenser unit and pump of the ground source heat pump in the greenhouse is practical.

Asking The Right People For Donations To Your Charity

If you want to make money for your organization or charity, you need to know where you will be getting your money from. Of course, you will want to be able to appeal to a wide range of donors, but in fact you will get the most money by targeting donors.

You have seen this in action already in fundraising efforts you have likely observed: Cancer societies often appeal for donations from people who have lost someone to cancer; Girl Scouts target customers leaving grocery stores as these are likely candidates to buy a box of cookies. Targeting your audience and carefully planning where you will look for money will help ensure that all your resources all well-spent and that you get the best return on your time and effort investment.

So who gives money?

Plenty of people and groups are willing to give money to non-profit organizations that support a good cause. Some of the people and groups that offer money are:

Individual People or Donors: Many non-profits, especially the smaller ones, get much of their money from concerned individuals. People are extremely generous about supporting causes that they believe in. Some will donate just small amounts of money - sometimes just a few dollars at a time - that can quickly add up.

More affluent philanthropists may offer you large sums of money. No matter what your fundraising goals in the long run, you should spend at least some of your fundraising efforts trying to reach individual donors. Not only are these donors likely to support your group if your group seems to offer a legitimate help to society, but educating individual donors about the importance of your cause will help spread the word about your group's mandate and programs.

The more individuals know about your group, the more your group is likely to thrive. Another benefit of individual donors, especially for the smaller non-profit, is that individuals are often quite community-minded. If you are a small group mostly interested in helping the local community, local donors are the ones most likely to be interested in - and supportive of - your group.

Companies: Industry is actually a big supporter of non-profits. The profits made by companies in your area are pumped back into the community in many ways - including through employment, taxation, and through direct donations. Browse through your local papers and look for articles about corporate or company donations and sponsorship.

You will notice that some companies and industries in your area are especially adept at contributing to charities and non-profit groups. In some cases, companies contribute in order to be a part of a community or in order to bolster their image in a community. In many cases, companies and industry give to charities because an owner or shareholders believe strongly in a cause.

Many companies and larger industries have a large amount of money, and in some cases they may be willing to share a small amount with a worthwhile cause. Even if you cannot gain on-going support from a company or industry, these sources are often great for individual donations or support. For example, if you are organizing a fair or sale, a company may be willing to grant supplies, volunteers, or money in exchange for some free advertising, which can be as simple as a large banner at your event proclaiming "refreshments generously provided by Acme Bakery."

Governments: Local, state, and federal governments are a huge source of money for non-profit groups.

Other Charitable Groups: Non-profits often help each other. Larger organizations such as the Red Cross or United Way will often give support and even money support to local charities and groups doing similar work. Churches, schools, and local groups will often fundraise or gather donations for a group they believe in. There are also larger foundations and philanthropical groups, such as the famous Rockefeller Foundation, which exist solely to help other groups and individuals do charitable work. These groups can be a great resource, and, large and small, they should not be ignored.

Biodiesels - Are They The Answer To Our Energy Woes

Biodiesels may be touted as the answer to all of America's energy problems. But are they? Yes, according to most experts. Biodiesels offer:

-Cleaner air.
-Cheaper fuel.
-A renewable fuel source.
-A homegrown fuel alterative, freeing the United States from an over-dependence on foreign oil.

What Are Biodiesel Fuels?
Biodiesel is a fuel for cars, trucks and busses, made from fatty acid alkylesters found in vegetable and soybean oil, animal fats and even recycled restaurant grease. It is safe to handle, safe to store and safe to transport.

What Are Its Benefits.
Used in its pure form (100%), biodiesel is a cleaner burning fuel that not only emits fewer air pollutants itself, but helps reduce dangerous emissions of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, sulfates, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, nitrated aromatic hydrocarbons and particulate matter, that enter the atmosphere by limiting the use of petroleum.

Scientists now believe that carbon dioxide alone may be one of the main contributing factors to greenhouse gasses linked to the growing concern over global warming. Using 100% biodiesel fuels could reduce these dangerous greenhouse gasses by a whopping 75%!

It's not just the environment that benefits from the use of biodiesels. Humans do to. Biodiesel fuels are better for our lungs and our hearts, by clearing the air we breathe. It even smells better to burn than diesel smoke. Some have compared it to French fries cooking.

Who Can Use Biodiesel Fuel?
Biodiesels are available in some degree to just about everybody. Today, most gasoline stations offer a mixture of 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum. But more needs to be done to get 100% biodiesel fuels to the consumer. Contrary to popular myth, most vehicles built after 1994 are already equipped to handle biodiesel fuels with little or no modifications. Special pumps and fueling stations are not needed and it can be made rather quickly and easily.

The soybean industry has been advocating the use of biodiesel fuels for years, touting the importance of its positive effect on the environment as well as the nation's economy. Based on a recent survey conducted by the United States Department of Energy, there is currently enough foodstuffs available in the U.S. (consisting of available soybean oil, vegetable oils, and animal fats), to make 1.9 billion gallons of biodiesel. That's just 5% of all petroleum American's will use to run their cars, trucks, and city busses this year!

Cost too, is negligible. Soybean oil, the most popular and available ingredient for making biodiesel fuel, may be the most expensive. But at just 20 cents per pound, the cost of producing just 1 gallon of fuel with soybean oil would cost less than $1.50 a gallon. Using recycled fats and grease is even cheaper, costing less than $1.00 per gallon to produce.

The Downside of Using Biodiesel Fuel.
There are two downsides to using biodiesel fuels, however. Car manufacturers believe that the fuel may impact a vehicle's engine durability, requiring more maintenance than when using traditional petroleum products. Second, current biodiesels available don't seem to hold up in cold weather climates. More research is needed to make the fuel handle better in extreme low temperatures. But, all-in-all those are only minor setbacks in the quest for a cleaner, cheaper and more available fuel supply.

A Simple Discovery Makes SEO a Thing of the Past for Most Site Owners

Like thousands, maybe millions of site owners out there I have been trying with all the usual programs to enhance my SEO and finally reach the coveted number one position for my particular site and its subject.

I am positive I am not alone when I say that I find it almost impossible to get anywhere near the top results with any search engine and I often feel as though I am fighting a losing battle.

It seems that no matter what I do and how many programs I purchase to help in my plight I like most people don't stand a chance in hell of getting a sniff at the best positions. It appears that you have to have a massive advertising budget to even scratch the surface with the search engines and unless you are prepared to spend spend spend on adwords or adsense its a lost cause.

Having tried in vain for more than four years which is probably a lot less than some of you who are reading this I was on the verge of giving up. This was mainly because I just couldn't afford to carry on pumping my hard earned cash into programs that were supposed to help but never did.

I searched and searched, often deep into the night as I'm sure many of you have also and I have been searching in vain. At least I thought it was in vain. Then it happened. I made an amazing discovery that in time will in my opinion change the Internet and the way the small guy lists his site and promotes his product.

Its official term is a Search Sub Engine and it can only be described as a mixture of Google Ebay and Yell.com.

It promises to make the Internet a level playing field and no matter how large an advertising budget you have it wont be advantageous unlike the standard search engines.

It rotates your listing very much like that of an auction site and gives everyone a chance to reach that all important number one position. Its also very cost effective and if it lives up to its promises should be a breath of fresh air for webmasters all over the net.

Although it will never replace the search engines it is a welcome affordable addition to every ones advertising arsenal in that it doesn't discriminate against the new and unseen sites and it gives everybody an equal chance of making those all important sales or at the very least it gets your site out there under the very noses of the people it was intended for

Lord And Burnham Greenhouses Restoration Preserving The Past

In 1849 Frederick Lord started using his carpenter skills to build wood and glass greenhouses for customers in Buffalo, NY. This soon became Lords full time job as his business began to rapidly grow. In 1972 William Burnham, who was Lords son-in-law, began working with him. Lord and Burnham became famous for their greenhouses and public conservatories. They built a number of greenhouses and conservatories across the United States and their firm continued operation until 1982. Since that time people who are fortunate enough to own one of these greenhouses are looking for people who restore Lord and Burnham greenhouses.

There are now a number of companies who specialize in Lord and Burnham greenhouse restoration. Restoration may simply involve the re-skinning of the greenhouse or it could involve more extensive work. One such Lord and Burnham greenhouse restoration project was at the famous Hearsts formal gardens which involved two of their current structures. Lord and Burnham steel kits were purchased and sent to San Simeon in order to refurbish these historic structures.

Glass Garden Builders founder Richard Diesl became a Lord and Burnham employee at the age of 16. He now has extensive experience in Lord and Burnham greenhouse restoration. Richard and his team of experts work on many different aspects of the historical greenhouses such as heating, plumbing, and structural repair. Richards passion for Lord and Burnham greenhouse restoration has led him to many famous estates such as the Rockefeller Estate in New York and the Bronx Botanical Gardens.

Saving The Muessell-Ellison And The Ella Morris Conservatories

The Muessell-Ellison and the Ella Morris conservatories of South Bend are two of the famous conservatories which were built by Lord and Burnham. They have fallen into disrepair and either needed some restoration work or they were going to have to be torn down. Since they are described as being beautiful structures the Historic Preservation Commission had hopes of saving the two structures. The local people have decided to donate money to do the necessary repairs in order to preserve the historic value of the structures.

Upon inspection it was determined that the restoration project would not be all that costly. They both needed some basic maintenance which would involve replacing broken windows and a general update to provide better ventilation. Heating and cooling was also addressed to allow the conservatories to be used to their maximum potential. Completion of the project should allow the public to enjoy these two historic sites for many years to come.

Saltwater And Freshwater Aquariums - What You Need To Know

Having a saltwater aquarium can be fun and rewarding or can be upsetting if a person lacks knowledge on the proper and right ways of taking care of fish especially in the saltwater aquarium.

Setting up one requires some equipment to be used for the success of your saltwater aquarium. Filters and air pump are some of the most important facilities. Some decorations can be added such as sand and gravels, which sometimes varies in different colors. You can also include plastic or real plants, castle or miniatures ship and other fancy decorations in the aquarium, but just be very careful that it won't clutter inside. Light is also essential in saltwater aquarium for the enhancement of the color of the aquarium and especially the fishes survival.

Saltwater aquarium requires three types of filtration. One is the Biological filtration, which involves the removal of the bacteria, which is often created by the fish on its activities, and processes that it undergoes inside the tank. Second, the chemical filtration that is more on the removing of the discoloration and chemicals on the water that harms the fish inside the tank. Third, is the mechanical filtration, which deals more with the removal of the visible materials floating on the aquarium such as uneaten fish foods, wastes of the fishes and other squanders floating or at the bottom of the saltwater aquarium, and this job is commonly done by the net.

There are many considerations regarding the proper ways in keeping the fish alive in a saltwater aquarium, unlike freshwater aquariums; saltwater aquarium is more difficult to set up. One very good example is mixing saltwater. We must remember that water evaporates while the salt is left, which means that the salinity of the water on the tank always varies, which can cause harm especially on the fishes inside the aquarium. A hydrometer may help you track the salinity of the water and add some salt to get the right salinity content of the water.

Beginners can set up their saltwater aquarium depending on what they like. You can just put fish only in the aquarium, or fish with full reef ambience, or whatever design you want, as long as it you make sure that the fish inside the aquarium would be able to survive.

Experienced aquarists and experts say that we must always find the perfect place for the aquarium in the house. If the location of your saltwater aquarium is always struck by sunlight, it may result to changes on the temperature of the water on the tank and would produce more algae due to the sun and its UV rays, which may harm your fish inside the aquarium.

Some people find taking care of fishes as a pet difficult. The reason behind this maybe is that they lack familiarity or they were not given the right information on the proper ways on taking care of the aquarium as well as the fishes inside, but the truth is, it is not that much difficult at all.
There are several steps to be considered in order to become successful on taking care of freshwater fishes.

First step is to have all the equipments to be used on the aquarium or fish tank. One is the filtration equipment, which is responsible for keeping and maintaining the cleanliness and freshness of the water on the tank and you need an air pump to keep the water on the tank aerated and to produce oxygen for the fish or plants inside the tank.

Decorations such as gravel, sand, and plants that can be plastic or real ones, depending on your choice, are great ideas as well. There are also some decorations nowadays made of plastic such as a fortress, vessel, shells and other fancy garlands and some aquarium backgrounds, which are commonly underwater views. Lights also give a very desirable effect on the enhancement of color in the aquarium and gives real plants inside chlorophyll for them to grow. However, beware of putting different decorations inside the tank because it may just pollute the water or just muddle the water inside. Always remember that fishes needs space for them to swim.

There must also be a cover on the aquarium to protect dust or other materials going into the tank. A stand for the aquarium also plays a vital role in keeping the balance of the tank. Other cleaning materials is also important such as a net, chlorine remover, heater for keeping the right temperature of the water and most importantly, fish food.

Some of the best advices is to be careful in feeding the fish because over feeding of fish may result to harm. There are also some people who put too many fishes on their aquarium, do not forget that some fish fights and it might cause inadequate supply of oxygen for the fish and real plants inside the tank if there are too many fishes on the tank.

Penis pumps are very popular today for penis enlargement

You may feel a little lack of self confidence with the size of your penis. Many men have the goal of having a larger penis. It's a fact that the larger your penis is the more attractive and more aroused women will be. Some cases men will have a penis smaller than 2 inches which is known as a micropenis. This is a very unusual condition and it can affect your whole life. You don't have to walk around with lack of self confidence and feeling like less of a man. You don't need to have expensive surgeries that often can leave your penis scarred and disfigured.

Penis enlargement surgeries cost thousands of dollars. With surgery, you risk not only having infections, disfigurement and scarring, but you also risk your life. Any surgery you undergo can be potentially fatal, regardless of what you operate on.

There are other alternatives that are less invasive and less painful. Pumping your penis to enlarge the size of it is nothing new. There are many cultures that practice a variety of methods to enlarge the penis. Penis pumps and penis enlargement has been practiced for many thousands of years. It goes back centuries in the past. It is said that the first penis pump was discovered and invented by a man named Sean Di Ciccio during the 1800s. Even back in the 1800s, men had problems with their penis size and wanted to take steps to enlarge their penis. It was also found by a woman named Margaret Mead, a well known anthropologist, that many males increased their penis size with the assistance of sleeves that were made out of plant fiber. They then placed this on their penis on one side, and on the other side they placed a heavy object to stretch it. This is much easier and much better than some surgical procedure that risks infection and loss of feeling. Yes, you can actually lose sensation with penis enlargement surgery. With loss of sensation, love making will not be as much fun and it could affect your love life tremendously. You don't want to risk that. You don't have to. You can have increased size in your penis and still keep all of the sensation. That's the reason you probably want to increase your size anyway, is to enhance your sex life.

Through technological advancements, the process of increasing your penis has become mechanized and more sophisticated. The first pieces of equipment that were mechanized were by American and European companies. They were the precursors to the penis pumps. Penis pumps are a cylinder that is fitted over your penis with the assistance of a motorized pump that creates a suction action. This draws blood into your penis and makes it become engorged. Through the repeated process of this, it can increase the size and length of your penis. It can also help you last longer when making love with the lady of your life. The bigger you are, the more attractive you are.

The Amazing Loire Valley and Its Gorgeus Gardens at Chateau Villandry

The gardens at Chateau Villandry are an absolute delight. They are enthusiastically and lovingly tended by Henri Carvallo, curator of the chateau and great-grandson of Dr Joachim Carvallo who purchased the chateau in 1906. At that time Villandry when Dr Carvallo purchased the property it was on the point of being demolished. It had been disfigured by additions, fake windows, the walling up of the arches and the moat had been filled in. DrJoachim Carvallo envisaged the harmonious renaissance architecture and the original design. He devoted himself to the restoration of Villandry and its gardens giving up an impressive career in science under the tutelage of a professor who later went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Dr Carvallo went on to found the Association de la Demeure Historique with the objective of saving historic buildings throughout France. He sure saved Villandry which is now one of the most visited Loire Valley chateaux.

Carvallo's best work was the restoration of the gardens, which still make the reputation of Villandry. Gardens existed as early as the 16th century and these were reconstructed under Carvallo's instructions following evidence of engravings found in "Les plus Excellents Bastiments de France" (1576-1579) by Jacques Androuet Du Cerceau.

The Chateau Villandry gardens are the grandest examples of formal Renaissance style gardens in France. The gardens, which are terraced on three levels, were influenced by Italian gardeners brought in by Charles VIII. The design for plantings on each level are:

The first level is the highest, at or above ground level with the chateau, is the Le Jardin d'Eau, (water garden) featuring lawns, fountains whose edges are bounded by arbors.

The second level, includes the : Le Jardin d'Ornement, (ornamental gardens), consisting of 3 the Decorative Flower Garden, the Garden of Love, the Garden of Music and the Garden of Simple delights. In the front of this level where the castle stands is a bed planted with a pergola walk shaded by vines.

The third and lowest level, is the kitchen garden Le Potager, (vegetable garden), consists of fruit trees and bushes, 2vegetable plantings,as well as herbs for seasoning or medicinal purposes. This garden, in the Louis XIV style, and takes the form of a rectangle of slightly irregular shape surrounding on three sides the two higher tiers of gardens. It is devoted to vegetables and has 9 square sections divided into beds of various coloured plants, surrounded by box hedges and hardy plants. Villandry is a vegetal feast, with big purple cabbages, zigzags of crazy-growing leeks, blocks of autumn pumpkins, beds of yellow and green peppers and mounds of celery all replanted twice a year with a brilliant eye for the colours of the changing seasons.

At the opposite side of the garden to the castle, there is a maze of 12000 clipped beech trees.
Each of these gardens is impressive in their own rights, so I will not recommend one more than the others.,
Villandry is well worth the visit 2Without too much pomp and ceremony you can witness a chateau that lives in harmony with nature, and the remarkable beauty of these gardens. Eight gardeners work at Chateau Villandry full time, and plant about 45,000 plants and 60,000 vegetables in its gardens each year.

In July each year Chateau Villandry holds Les Nuits des Mille Feux, when they light up the magical gardens of the Villandry castle with 2000 candles. Lit just as the sun begins to set, the candles burn on until after midnight in the beautiful grounds of the Loire's most famous chateau. Baroque music, played live by strolling musicians, adds to the mystical atmosphere during this quintessential Loire experience. It really is spectacular, so don't miss it if you can.

If you can not make it to the Les Nuits des Mille Feux in July, then you definitely should try to see all the Chateau Villandry gardens in the summertime, and preferably about two hours before the sun sets, as the light adds that certain 'Je-ne-sais-quoi'.

How To Overcome Anxiety and Panic Attacks for Good

Standing in a supermarket queue, it's been a long wait but only one customer to go before you make it to the cashier. Wait, what was that sensation? An unpleasant feeling forms in your throat, your chest feels tighter, now a sudden shortness of breath, and what do you know- your heart skips a beat. "Please, God, not here."

You glance around to make sure you are safe however; there are several strangers behind you and one other customer in front. You realize you are beginning to have a panic attack while your skin begins to prickle all over as a rush of doom washes over you.

Your breath catches as in your mind you are now contemplating this being the big one you have feared. Stop, now focus: Calm down and remember what you have learned, you should apply these coping procedures right now. As your physician has advised, begin with your deep breathing, your mind and body needs air. In through the nose and out through the mouth.

Slowly now, remembering to think relaxing thoughts and again, while inhaling, tell yourself to relax then exhale. However, it seems that you may be feeling very self-conscious of concentrating on breathing and even more stressed than before.

Okay, coping technique 2: Gradual muscle relaxation. Tense both shoulders, hold for 10 seconds, then release. Try it again. No; still no difference. The anxiety is getting worse and the very fact that you are out of coping techniques worsens your panic. If only you were surrounded by your family, or a close friend were beside you so you could feel more confident in dealing with this situation.

Your body stings with the tingling as adrenaline pumps faster in your body, you then feel the terror of losing your complete control right there in the check out line. However, for those around you it is just another day and they have no sense of how you are feeling.

You decide the last option of coping is the next step to take and that is to flee the area. You lay your intended purchase on the counter and make a quick exit as the cashier is left standing watching you with a puzzled look on her face. Although you may be embarrassed you have no time for making excuses, you just need to be alone in order to control the anxiety, which is building inside you. You then get into your car and drive away, riding this out all alone. You fear that this episode will ultimately be the one that pushes you past your limits physically and mentally. However, in just ten minutes the attack begins to fade away. You are haunted by the idea that it is just nine am and you cannot help but to wonder if you will be able to make it through the day.

To someone who suffers from panic attack the scenario above can seen alarmingly familiar. In fact, it is possible just reading this article that the feelings of panic and anxiety are triggered. Everyone is different; therefore, it is normal that their triggers for attacks may differ. A panic attack can occur anywhere at any time.

Hopefully, you can take comfort in knowing that you are not alone, and that everyone experiences that same acute sense of approaching horror when experiencing an anxiety attack. It is a feeling so strong that you may feel as though you are about to perish on the spot or lose your mind altogether.

Did you know that in the United States that the estimate of those stricken by panic attacks is nearly five percent? This means you are not even one in a million. For many individuals their episodes are triggered by the expectation of dealing with others while speaking, and there are those who suffer daily and have become homebound by the frequency of their panic attacks. Often panic attacks that develop frequently are referred to as anxiety disorder by the medical profession.

Recovery for you starts here and now. Here you will find out just what you should do to end this vicious cycle of panic attacks. Since you will not only learn to take back your carefree lifestyle while developing a new confidence in living your life.

The trick to panic attacks is wanting to have one-the wanting pushes it away. Can you have a panic attack in this very second? No! You know the saying that "what you resist, persists." Well that saying applies perfectly to fear. If you resist a situation out of fear, the fear around that issue will persist. How do you stop resisting - you move directly into it, into the path of the anxiety, and by doing so it cannot persist.

The heart of this technique is that by trying to have a panic attack you will not be able to have one. If you try to have a panic attack I assure you, you will not be able to trigger an episode. Whether you realize it or not, you have always made a choice to have a panic attack. You make such a choice by thinking that any scenario you are experiencing is out of your control.

Your real safety is the fact that a panic attack will never harm you. That is medical fact. You are safe, the sensations are wild but no harm will come to you. Your heart is racing but no harm will come to you. The situation is perfectly safe even though you may not feel that way at the time.

Asthma Medicines - Home remedies for asthma.

For some people asthma might not seem too serious of a disease. Although rarely fatal, it can be a very serious condition, especially in small children. Periods of acute breathlessness may occur at any time and last anywhere from less then an hour to days. At those periods the help of medical professionals might be necessary. For the times in between there are some proven herbal treatments and remedies that may also be helpful.

The diet of people with asthma should contain about 60% of fruit and vegetables.

Take 100 g of dry rose petals, 500 g of raw mashed pumpkin, 5-7 dry plantain leaves, 4 tbsp of honey and 1 L of red wine. Combine everything in a pot and bring to boil (do not boil). Let stand for 24 hours and filter, squeezing out juice from the mash. Take 1 tbsp 5-6 times a day. Repeat twice a year.

Mix together equal parts of coltsfoot, wild rosemary and plantain. Put 1 tbsp of the mix in a cup and add boiling water. Let stand for awhile. Drink 1/3 of a cup 3 times a day 30 min before meal.

Combine 100 g of grated horseradish and juice of 3 lemons. Take 1 tsp in the morning and afternoon. Do not eat or drink anything for 30 min after taking it. Juice of 10 lemons, juice of 10 heads of garlic and 1 L of honey mix together. Keep in dark place under tight lid for 1 week. Take 2 tbsp 3 times a day 30 min before meal.

300 g of honey, 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of crushed aloe leaf boil at low heat for 2 hours. Stir well and keep in cool place. Take 1 tbsp 3 times a day. Put 1 tbsp of eucalyptus leaves in 1/2 L of boiling water. Let stand for 20 min and drink 50-100 ml 3 times a day before meal.

Put 1 tbsp of coltsfoot in 400 ml of boiling water. Let stand for 1 hour, filter and drink 1 tbsp 4-6 times a day.

Mix together equal parts of celery juice and honey, collected in May. Take 1 tbsp 4-5 times a day.

Collect 40 leaves of coltsfoot. Boil 1 leaf for 15 min in a cup of water. Drink in the morning before breakfast. Repeat for 40 days.

Add 5 mashed cloves of garlic to 100 g of butter and mix well. Eat like regular butter, spreading it on bread. Provides anti-bacterial effect. This asthma remedy can't be used by pregnant women.

Mix together mashed garlic and horseradish (100 g of each), 150 g of butter and 600 g of honey. Warm the mix up in double boiler till honey dissolves. Keep in dark cool place tightly covered. Take 1 tbsp 1 hour prior to meal for 2 months. If needed, repeat the treatment after 1 months rest.

5 g of dry crushed quince leaves put in 1 cup of boiling water and steep for 1 hour. Strain and take 2 tbsp 3-4 times a day before meal. The remedy can ease up asthma attack.

2 tbsp of mashed turnip put in 1 cup of boiling water and boil for 15 min. Filter and drink cup 4 times a day or 1 cup before bed.

Conquering Panic Attacks Can Improve Your Life

Many people have at one time or another experienced a frightening condition called panic attack or panic disorder. Panic attacks can interfere with the quality of time they spend with their significant others, friends and/or families. They can also make trouble at work, which most women appreciate as a creative and energizing atmosphere. For some however, the workplace is perceived as a pressure cooker. They find themselves overwhelmed by their duties and job responsibilities. These work stresses can add to their risk of developing panic attacks.

How does stress affect the human body?

The composition of the human body is constructed very much like a chain. A chain is composed of links that are intertwined to hold the chain together. If pulled or stretched the chain will most likely break into pieces. It will break where the greatest pressure is exerted and where the weakest link is located. Human beings are very much like a golden chain. The mind and the body work as a chain and interact in unison to help the individual to make sense of, understand and function in the world. If a person feels overwhelmed this fragile chain can break!

This condition can lead to a person having panic attacks. Panic attacks affect the behavior, the body, and the emotions and paralyze the person. Panic attacks if left un-treated can lead to a more chronic medical condition (such as substance abuse, depression, or ulcers) poor job performance, and possible loss of job or family.

What is a panic attack?

A panic attack is an exaggerated fight or flee response. Nature has provided us all with built-in survival skills. If an individual perceives that a forthcoming attack or a life-threatening situation is at hand he/she can do one of two things. One, she may decide to stay to stay and (fight) off our enemy. Or, she can decide it is better to run (flee) like crazy to avoid the danger. The body physically prepares the body to fight or flee.

The person's body and mind begin to form physical, psychological, and behavioral responses to this perception. Physically the body prepares the heart by pumping blood into major muscle groups of the legs and arms. This is to prepare the body for the attack. The lungs fill with oxygen and breathing increases to pump the needed blood to the body for action. The brain is problem-solving and decides where the best place is to either fight or flee. The behavior that follows is either running or fighting.

Consider this: What if the perception of danger and/or threat is not real and yet the body decides that it is? This event can lead to men, women and yes, even children, to having full-blown panic attacks. If these symptoms persist, a professional may make a diagnosis of Panic Disorder.

What are the symptoms of a panic attack?
-Racing heartbeat
-Difficulty breathing, feeling as though you can't get enough air
-Terror that is almost paralyzing
-Dizziness, lightheadedness or nausea
-Trembling, sweating, shaking
-Choking, chest pains
-Hot flashes, or sudden chills
-Tingling in fingers or toes (pins and needles)
-Fear that you are going crazy or about to die.

One in every 75 or so people is diagnosed with panic disorder. In addition, these symptoms are not warranted and there are no particular reasons or circumstances that they should be occurring (no danger exists).

The attacks can occur without warning. It is also important to understand the level of fear experienced is way out of proportion to the actual situation; often, in fact it is completely unrelated to what the person is doing or the location they are in. Lastly, an attack passes within a few minutes. Sometimes an attack can be repeated; some even recurring for hour at a time.

A panic attack is not dangerous in itself, but to the person experiencing the attack it is terrifying and very real. The person may describe feeling crazy or as if they are losing control. If left un-treated, panic attacks can lead to other conditions such as phobias, depression, substance abuse, medical conditions such as ulcers, and even suicide. The social impairment for a person with panic attacks can also lead to complete social withdrawal. They may try to avoid all social and physical settings that could trigger another attack.

Can panic attacks be treated?
Fortunately, there are effective treatments available for panic disorder. Many persons with panic attacks have seen numerous doctors seeking help. It is not unusual for a person with panic attacks to believe they have a medical condition that has been missed and they have some horrible disease that is the causing the attacks. Proper diagnosis and treatments are imperative. Medical and behavioral treatments are available and very effective in the treatment of panic attacks. The good news is people with panic attacks can lead to normal, productive lives.

Talented and successful people may leave jobs or relationships that are perceived as possible triggers for future attacks. An employee may be passed over for a position because travel is required and they are fearful of flying or driving a car because of past panic attacks. It is not unusual for a person with panic attacks to be embarrassed and ashamed of their condition and therefore keep it from co-workers, supervisors, and friends. Often the person's condition is hidden until a situation arises when the attacks can longer be ignored.

How can you help a friend?
What is the best way you as a co-worker, friend, or family member can help someone who has panic attacks? Be supportive and do not jump to conclusions. You are not a professional so do not make a diagnosis. Leave diagnosis and treatment to the professionals.

The person experiencing panic attacks cannot make them go away and it is not a sign of weakness or poor character. The attacks are very real to them and their bodies react to these fears as if they are real.

Encourage the person to talk about their feelings and experiences and to seek professional assistance. Many times a person with panic attacks is afraid you will judge them or find out that they are going crazy.

Many companies have an Employee Assistance Program on site or contract with a mental health organization that provides help for employees and their families. The very best assistance for any person with panic attacks is to understand they are not going crazy nor will they die. Panic attacks should be taken seriously and the person seen by a qualified medical/mental health professional as soon as possible. Proper diagnosis and treatment are the keys for recovery for the person with panic attacks to enable them to lead a successful and happy life.

For more information about panic disorder and other related anxiety- related conditions please visit your local or National Mental Health Association or the American Psychological Association. These associations will be able to get you more information about panic attacks and will also offer referrals for treatment if you ask them.

Testosterone propionate, after Testosterone cypionate and enanthate, is the third injectable testosterone ester that needs to be described in detail. This makes sense because, unlike cypionate and enanthate, both of which are widely used and well-spread in Europe, proprionate is little noticed by most athletes. The reader will now certainly pose the question of why the characteristics of an apparently rarely used substance are described in detail. At a first glance this might seem a little unusual but when looking at this substance more closely, there are several reasons that become clear. Testosterone propionate is used on so few occasions in weightlifting, powerlifting, and bodybuilding not because it is ineffective. On the contrary, most do not know about propionate and its application potential. One acts according to the mottos "what you don't know won't hurt you" and "If others don't use, it can't be any good." We do not want to go this far and call propionate the most effective testosterone ester-, however, in certain applications it is superior to enanthate, cypionate, and also undecanoate because it has characteristics which the common test-osterones do not have.

The main difference between propionate, cypionate, and enanthate is the respective duration of effect. In contrast to the long-acting enanthate and cypionate depot steroids, propionate has a distinctly lower duration of effect. The reader learns how long this time is from the package insert of the German Jenapharm GmbH for their compound "Testosteron Jenapharm" (see list with trade 'names): "Testosterone proprionate has a duration of effect of I to 2 days." An eye-catching difference, however, is that the athlete "draws" distinctly less water with propionate and visibly lower water retention occurs. Since propionate is quickly effective, often after only one or two days, the athlete experiences an increase of his training energy, a better pump, an increased appe-tite, and a slight strength gain. As an initial dose most athletes pre-fer a 50-100 mg injection. This offers two options: First, because of the rapid initial effect of the propionate-ester one can initiate a sev-eral-weeklong steroid treatment with Testosterone enanthate. Those who cannot wait until the depot steroids become effective inject 250 mg of Testosterone enanthate and 50 mg of Testosterone propionate at the beginning of the treatment. After two days, when the effect of the propionates decreases, another 50 mg ampule is injected. Two days after that, the elevated testosterone level caused by the propi-onate begins to decrease. By that time, the effect of the enanthates in the body would be present; no further propionate injections would be necessary. Thus the athlete rapidly reaches and maintains a high testosterone level for a long time due to the depot testo. This, for example, is important for athletes who with Anadrol 50 over the six-week treatment have gained several pounds and would now like to switch to testosterone. Since Anadrol 50 begins its "breakdown" shortly after use of the compound is discontinued, a fast and el-evated testosterone level is desirable. The second option is to take propionate during the entire period of intake. This, however, requires a periodic injection every second day. Best results can be obtained with 50-100 mg per day or every sec-ond day. The athlete, as already mentioned, will experience visibly lower water retention than with the depot testosterones so that propionate is well-liked by bodybuilders who easily draw water with enanthate. A good stack for gaining muscle mass would be, for example, 100 mg Testosterone propionate every 2 days, 5p mg Winstrol Depot every 2 days, and 30 mg Dianabol/day. Propionate is mainly used in the preparation for a competition and used by female athletes. And in this phase, dieting is often combined with, testosterone to maintain muscle mass and muscle density at their maximum. Propionate has always proven effective in this regard since it fulfills these requirements while lowering possible water retention. This water retention can be tempered by using Nolvadex and Proviron. A combination of 100 mg Testosterone propionate every 2 days, either 50 mg Winstrol Depot/day or 76 mg Parabolan every 2 days, and 25 mg Oxandrolone/day help achieve this goal and are suitable for building up "quality muscles."

Women especially like propionate since, when applied properly, an-drogenic-caused side effects can be avoided more easily The trick is to increase the time intervals between the various injections so that the testosterone level can fall again and so there is an accumulation of androgens in the female organism. Women therefore take propi-onate only every 5-7 days and obtain remarkable results with it. The, androgenic effect included in the propionate allows better regeneration without virilization symptoms for hard-training women. The dosage is usually 25-50 mg/injection. Higher dosages and more frequent intervals of intake would certainly show even better re-sults but are not recommended for women. The duration of intake should not exceed 8-10 weeks and can be supplemented by taking mild and mostly anabolic steroids such as, for example, Primobolan, Durabolin, and Anadur in order to promote the synthesis of pro-tein. Men who do not fear the intake of testosterone or the possible side effects should go ahead and give propionate a try. The side ef-fects of propionate are usually less frequent and are less pronounced. The reason is that the weekly dose of propionate is usually much lower than with depot testosterones. A daily injection of 50 mg amounts to a weekly dose of 350 mg while several depot injections easily launch the milligram content of testosterone into the fourfigure range. When compared with enanthate and cypionate, propionate is also a "milder" substance and thus better tolerated in the body. Those who are convinced that they need daily testosterone injections should consider taking propionate. The key to success with propionate lies in the regular intake of relatively small quantities (50-100 mg every 1-2 days.)

Although the side effects of propionate are similar to the ones of enanthate and cypionate these, as already mentioned, occur less frequently. However, if there is a predisposition and very high dosages are taken, the known androgenic-linked side effects such as acne vulgaris, accelerated hair loss, and increased growth of body hair and deep voice can occur. An increased libido is common both in men and women with the use of propionate. Despite the high conversion rate of propionate into estrogen gynecomastia is less common than with other testosterones. The same is true for possible water retention since the retention of electrolytes and water is less pronounced. The administration of testosterone-stimulating compounds such as HCG and Clomid can, however, also be advised with propionate use since it has a strong influence on the hypothalamohypophysial testicular axis, suppressing the endogenous hormone production. The toxic influence on the liver is minimal so that a liver damage is unlikely (see also Testosterone enanthate). What athletes dislike most about propionate are the frequent injections that are necessary.

As for frequent injections: The Testosterone Berco Suppositories by the German company Funke can help. This is quite an unusual testosterone compound since these are suppositories. The suppositories contain 40 mg Testosterone propionate and are introduced into the body through the rectum. This form of intake also has an additional advantage. The substance Testosterone propionate is reabsorbed very rapidly through the intestine. For a package with 18 suppositories the price on the black market is about $35.

Creatine Glutamine: The Perfect Muscle Building Combination

Creatine glutamine is a combination of two of the most essential components to any bodybuilding muscle supplement. Glutamine levels are very important to a weight or strength trainer because they are depleted intensely when training. Using muscles in general depletes glutamine levels and rigorous training sessions eat up glutamine faster than the body can sustain it. Glutamine is not a substance that the body can naturally create making creatine glutamine an excellent addition to any strength training individual diet. It is also well known that glutamine is a crucial element to keeping muscles healthy and strong so a solid supplement is absolutely necessary.

Creatine glutamine not only provides a healthy dose of glutamine and creatine, it also adds many vital amino acids. These are very helpful in the maintenance of muscles as well as promoting fast healing. That means there is less down time after a rigorous training session when using creatine glutamine as a bodybuilding supplement. These also provide a much-needed boost to the immune system, which is an added benefit to this first-class supplement.

Creatine on its own is well known for being a powerful supporter for increasing strength and building lean muscle mass. It also provides longer endurance times, which means that the training sessions can be longer in duration. Longer strength training sessions are an absolutely necessary aspect to increasing muscle mass and adding strength. Creatine glutamine as a supplement provides all needed nutrition to the muscles to keep them in tiptop shape and create an atmosphere that promotes growth.

Glutamine is known as a cell enhancer and as such, influences muscle protein within the body. Creatine glutamine prevents the excess acid within the muscles. The excess acid in muscles is what causes them to become drained and tired. Reducing acid build-up promotes a longer pumping session and prevents those effects from taking place. In fact, most experts agree that creatine glutamine is the most powerful supplement because it is the most potent cell-signalling supplement available. Creatine glutamine maximizes on creatine intake, cellular hydration provided to the muscles and strengthening not only muscles, but also the immune system.

There are many supplements that also cause the ill-wanted crashes associated with bodybuilding supplements. Creatine glutamine remains stable in the body and is a great support to the stability of blood sugar levels. For this reason there are no highs or lows connected with creatine glutamine and there have been no reports of crashing individuals while using this supplement. No crashing, adding glutamine to the body as a substance the body can't make and requires and an added boost of creatine really showcases what makes this one of the best strength training supplements today.

Discover the impact that creatine glutamine can have in your strength training process today. Intense energy, incredible pumps and a boost to the immune system are at your fingertips today. Give creatine glutamine a try and notice the effects in as little as a few training sessions!

THE POWER OF HEAVY POUNDAGE

21st Century bodybuilding has become a complicated business. It seems that to get anywhere in this game nowadays, you’ve got to have PHD level knowledge on everything from nutrition to kinesiology, from chemistry to, dare I say it, psychology. We’re constantly being bombarded with state of the art research about everything from metabolic typing to visualization, from chemical sub-structures to ECG graph print-outs. It’s enough to make an old school iron pumper growl in disgust. Fortunately for the several million of us who would like to keep things simple, however, there is one muscle building truism that will never change, no matter how far our sport meanders into technical triviality: to build huge and freaky muscle mass you’ve got to haul heavy poundage.

Go Heavy or Go Home

The principle of progressive resistance is the cornerstone of the sport of bodybuilding, and for good reason. Without it we simply will not progress. That’s because our bodies have an amazing adaptive ability. If you’re pumping 100 pounds on the tricep push-down for 10 reps, it won’t take your body long to get used to that level of stress. When it does, it won’t have any reason to respond and the process that, if supported by proper rest and feeding, leads to bigger muscles will never get started. That is why you need to be lifting heavier and heavier weights progressively to keep packing muscle onto your frame. To put it bluntly, if you’re not pushing the poundage to the edge of your ability, you’re pretty much wasting your time. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ve got to increase the weight on the bar each set. That is only one way to make the weight feel heavier. There are a whole host of intensity techniques that will also do the trick, such as reducing rest between sets or doing drop sets. Yet, increasing the weight progressively is an essential ingredient that must not be side-stepped.

The Great Rep Debate

Go heavy for 6-10 reps to build mass, and go light for 15 to 20 reps to get cut.

That apparently sage piece of bodybuilding advice has been doing the rounds for longer than most of us have been on the planet. Unfortunately for the unsuspecting, it’s a load of baloney. It has led a lot of mass hungry gym neophytes to while away their gym time with light weights and high reps, get absolutely nowhere and give up in despair, convinced that they just aren’t genetically disposed to building muscle. One the other side of the ledger there are those hardcore individuals who are convinced that the only way to get big is to max out on every set, keeping the reps way down in the one to three range. After all, they argue, a stronger muscle is a bigger muscle, so lets get as strong as we possibly can. It’s hardly surprising, then, that there’s a lot of confusion around the trenches regarding the ideal rep range. So, what’s the truth about this rep thing?

To build muscle we must firstly place maximal stress on that muscle. Performing one repetition of a movement with a maximum poundage will not recruit all of the fibers within the muscle cell. In fact, it will only stimulate somewhere between 65 and 80 % of them. The more reps you do, the higher the number of fibers recruited. Of course, there has to be a trade off to this – after all you can only do one rep with your one rep max. So the weight needs to come down to enable you to do more reps and, as a result, recruit more muscle fiber. As the reps increase, the initial 65-80 % of fibers recruited fatigue and more fibers are called into action. After a certain number of reps there will be no more fibers left to recruit and the set will come to the point of positive (concentric) failure. To complicate matters further, there are more than one type of fiber within the muscle cell. There are, in fact, two types of human muscle fiber. Type 1 (or slow twitch) fibers have a slow contraction time and are highly resistant to fatigue. These fibers are predominant in cardiovascular exercise. Most of our everyday activities also involve slow twitch fibers. Type 2 (or fast twitch) fibers are just the opposite – they have a fast contraction time and a low resistance to fatigue. These Type 2 fibers are the ones responsible for muscle growth. They are stimulated by heavy resistance. The lighter the resistance the more the Type 1 fibers come into play. Clearly, then, there must be a cut off point where the resistance switches from maximally activating Type 2 fiber to stimulating Type 1 fiber. Not surprisingly, dozens of studies have been performed over the years to determine what that cut off number is. The result? The ideal range to maximally stimulate Type 1 muscle fiber is between 6 and 8 reps. Any less than that and you won’t be recruiting 100 % of those fibers and much more than that will switch the emphasis over to Type 1 fibers.

Temper the Flame

Having established the technical validity of training hard and heavy for 6-8 reps, lets add a qualifier or two in order to create a sensible, productive routine. You cannot and should not go heavier every time you work out. Your body operates in cycles and rhythms that make it impossible to be constantly lifting a heavier weight every time you work a muscle group. As we all know the body also arrives at its own plateaus. If it didn’t, we’d see guys who have been training since the Sixties pushing 800-pound bench presses by now. So, if you set your mind on pushing a heavier weight every single work-out, there will be only one inevitable result: you will start to cheat on your form in order to get more weight up. In so doing, you’ll be leaving yourself wide open for a serious injury. So, rather than setting your mind on upping the weight every session, view the adding of weight as just one – albeit the most important – way to enhance training intensity. When a weight that you used to be able to barely manage 6 reps on now allows you to squeeze out 8 reps, than it’s time to add a pound or two – not before.

You should also cycle your training so that every six weeks you get a complete break from working out for a week or so. This allows the body time for both mental and physical recuperation. Do not fall into the trap of working your body to exhaustion. It demands time to refresh and refocus. If you ignore this demand, your body will literally eat away at your muscle stores – the mere thought of which is enough to send most bodybuilders into a catatonic state.

A Heavy Routine

When it comes to hard and heavy training, what role models come to mind? The Nineties gave us Dorian Yates. The Eighties saw the emergence of the golden eagle, Tom Platz. The Seventies belonged to Arnold. The Sixties were ruled by such luminaries as Bill Pearl and Larry Scott. And the Fifties? Anyone remember Marvin Eder? If you’re going “Marvin who?” then you’re in need of a quick iron history lesson. Marvellous Marvin is perhaps the strongest bodybuilder who ever lived. Check out a few stats: 510 lb bench press; 365 lb standing press; a dozen one arm chin ups. At 198 lbs and with 19 inch arms this guy was impressive. Marvin put his incredible strength and mass gains down to his no frills style of hard and heavy training. What follows is the basic routine that Marvin used to pack mass onto his frame and build strength levels that still astound us a half century down the track:

  1. Squat

  2. Bench Press

  3. Close Grip Bench Press

  4. Bent-Over Barbell Row

  5. Standing Barbell curl

  6. Lat Pull-down

  7. Leg Raises

That’s it – seven exercises to cover the entire body. The program works because when you work your major muscle groups with a systematic, heavy program, the synergistic muscles that surround them are also recruited and maximally stressed. So you are getting a total body work-out for less time in the gym. This is a great routine to pack on dense, thick muscularity that will make you look as strong as an ox. Do the program twice a week. Perform three sets per exercise, aiming for 8,7, and 6 reps respectively per set – except, that is, for the leg raises. Marvin used to do 100 of them – and he had great abs.

What About Periodic Power Training?

So, is there any value in bodybuilders periodically doing reps in the one to three range to add density and thickness? Definitely. After all, two of the greatest physiques of all time – Schwarzenegger and Columbu – were grounded as power-lifters before they rose in the ranks of muscledom. There are, in fact, two good reasons why you, as a bodybuilder, should do power training every few weeks:

  1. It will increase your absolute strength, which will, in turn increase your relative strength. To put that another way, lets assume that your one rep max on the bench is 275 lbs and your 6 rep max is 200 lbs. Then, through doing heavy singles, doubles and triples, you get your one rep max up to 290 lbs, it should follow that your 6 rep max will increase to about 212 lbs. So, when you revert back to your bodybuilding routine, you will be lifting heavier weights.

  2. There is a certain type of density and thickness that only comes from extremely heavy training. It’s hard to describe but instantly recognizable. The competitive bodybuilder who has developed this look will be at a definite advantage when competing. And for those of us who will never set foot on a bodybuilding stage, it will help us to develop that rugged, manly look that was probably the reason we picked up a weight in the first place.

Every few weeks why not pick a body part and train it power-lifting style? Take the chest for example. After warming up thoroughly on the bench, do a pyramid work-out where you drop from 3 to 2 to 1 rep per set. Then go back the other way for a total of 5 intense sets. You can do the same thing with squats for the legs, dead-lifts for the back, military presses for the shoulders and curls for the biceps. Obviously, though, you wouldn’t want to try this sort of thing on isolation movements like the leg extension. This sort of work-out is extremely taxing on the muscle so give the body-part a full week recuperation before working it again.

Go Heavy, Go Safe

The heavier the weight you lift, the more the likelihood that you might lose control of it. For that reason it is imperative that you have at least one good spotter when training heavy. You also need to thoroughly warm up before attempting to handle heavy weight. You should do specific stretches for the working muscle group as well as one or two warm up sets with a lighter weight. Also be very careful about how you go about the process of getting the weight into position. A surprisingly large number of training injuries occurred before the first rep even begun during the initial positioning phase. This is especially true of such movements as the dumbbell bench press. Often the lower back is injured when people twist unnaturally to get the weight into position. Avoid this by putting your spotter to work to pass the dumbbells up to you.

The Siege Mentality

Do you remember the last time someone really made you mad? I’m not talking angry, I mean fuming under the collar, screaming blue murder furious. If that chump turned up in your face while you were feeling that way, you’d probably end up with a one way ticket to death row. Well, when was the last time you felt that way in the gym. I’m not talking about being angry at another person but being angry with the weights. You see, those damned hunks of iron are sitting there taunting you. There saying, “You haven’t got the strength or the guts to push me around. You’re a loser and you’re going to fail at this work-out.” And what do you do about it? Well, most guys turn up already defeated. Life has knocked them around, they’re already feeling exhausted and they want to get this blasted work-out over to get home for The Simpsons. They feel intimidated by those heavy weights and have already programmed a negative result into their brain. So is it any wonder that these guys are not getting the results they want?

Contrast that with the guy who enters the gym totally psyched and ready to engage those weights in mortal combat. Don’t get me wrong, the guy doesn’t have to be all loud and demonstrative about it – a quiet determination is far more telling. He knows exactly what he’s going to achieve, he’s visualized himself successfully pushing the weights in perfect form and he’s primed himself nutritionally for maximum work-out energy. This guy has what the late great Mike Mentzer referred to as the siege mentality. Here’s what Mentzer himself once said about his own mindset in the gym, “Upon contact with my ‘enemy’, the weights, my nervous tension would explode in a burst of energy so intense that often the other bodybuilders around us would stop training and watch. There were instances in which, while waiting to do my next set, I’d be shaking with rage.” Can you take a leave out of his book and develop a more aggressive attitude when stepping up to face the heavy weights at your gym?

BONUS - Heave More with Rest-Pause

When it comes to lifting heavy weight, one of the most brutal training methods you can employ is the rest-pause technique. Rest-pause allows you to take a set beyond the point of muscular failure to recruit more of those elusive, hard to get at muscle fibers that are guaranteed to trigger new growth. It simply involves resting for 10-15 seconds at the end of a set taken to failure and then banging out two or three more reps with that same weight. That short rest will allow your body to re-energize. Oxygen will re-enter the muscle tissue, metabolic by-products will be removed and ATP will be re-synthesized. A variation on this technique is to choose a weight that is equivalent to your 3 rep max and perform a single rep. Then pause for 10-15 seconds and perform another. After another 15 second pause perform a third rep and so on until you have completed 10 reps. Perform basic mass building exercises with this technique and do them inside a power rack, with the lower pins acting as a safety rack. Give rest-pause a try and you’ll soon be experiencing more pleasure from your heavy poundage pain.

Whats New On The Hospitality Scene in Sydney

Sydney buzzes with the vibrancy of a true city of the world. It has the largess of New York's skyscrapers, the warmth of the cafes and bistros of Paris, the sparkling skyline of Tokyo. Uniquely, all its own, it touts one of the most beautiful natural harbor's of the world, fixed by the stunning architectural feat of the Sydney Opera House, it's white roof rising like the sails of the foreign ships that grace the bay. There is no debating it; it's quite stunning.

As I write this, I am sitting at the Icebergs Restaurant over-looking the panoramic vista of Bondi Beach. It's a "crowded" day, but everything's relative. Crowded on Jones Beach in New York, means you can't find a place to spread your towel. Crowded here, means you can hear your neighbor's conversation from a few meters away. There are, apparently, nets that are supposed to keep the sharks out, but every once in a while, I'm told, you'll hear them sound the shark alarm, signaling that a wayward, headstrong one has made its way through the barrier. I think that's just to spice up the excitement on the beach, but I'm not eager to test the truth, so I'm watching the action from above.

Below me is the Icebergs Club and Pool, which is a salt water pool that literally gets its salt water from a pump nestled in the rocks from the adjacent ocean and from the waves that from time to time cascade over the side of the pool. It's just exquisite, and apart from the black lines that mark the swimmers' lanes, with the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the side of the pool, you feel almost as if you're in the ocean, minus the threat of sharks (all but the very, very ambitious once, at least).

As a home base, I chose the Blue Sydney, primarily since it just celebrated its one year anniversary, having recently changing hands from the "W," a Starwood Group, to Taj, under the genteel auspices of General Manager Kottarapurath Mohanchandran ("Mohan" for short), whose last posting was Udaipur, where he served as GM for the Taj Lake Palace.

For those of you who have not seen the property, it is a brave and ambitious choice for Taj Structurally, it is quite different from any Taj I know, having been converted from a warehouse that once processed and stored wool. As it is a Heritage Landmark, the base structure remains unaltered, a modern hotel, reflecting its historic wharf roots.

The first thing that strikes the visitor is, "What is this?" By that, I mean that despite the 11 meter ceiling, exposed corrugated iron and timber from the original frame of the building, and defunct conveyor belts, there is a rather funky, chic bar in a vast space that is the very first hint that the purpose of the structure includes recreation and imbibing. It does not, however, appear to be a hotel, as the reception area is out of sight to the right as one enters and up a flight of stairs. Not exactly the curb appeal that screams, "hotel," and perhaps that is part of its mystique and appeal, but for the traditional among you, be advised.

The hotel sits on Finger Wharf in Woolloomooloo (no, I did not make a mistake, it really has eight "o"s, and is thus on the outskirts of the Commercial Business District or "CBD" as it is known. The wharf was constructed in 1910 during a period of expanding wool, wheat and import trading which lasted from late last century until the 1930s depression. Changes in the nature of international shipping after WWII rendered this once modern facility increasingly redundant for cargo handling.

In 1956, Shed NO. 7 was modified to handle the growing passenger trade, however this too diminished with the completion of the Circular Quay Passenger Terminal. With the exception of minor modifications, the wharf structure remains in its original condition. In the 1990s, perceived as redundant as a passenger terminal, the wharf was redeveloped as a luxury marina, entertainment and apartment complex (now hosting the likes of Russell Crowe, John Laws, and Lang Walker).

In 2000 the warehouse was converted by "W" into a luxury hotel, and the surrounding space into boutique restaurants that line the marina, offering indoor and outdoor dining with a lovely view.

Parking continues to be a challenge for the property, as is the unique challenges of maintaining a property that sits on piles drilled into the harbor bed, but those aren't challenges the guest needs to confront. Not much has changed since the hand-over to Taj, although the hotel may close for a short time to give the place a Taj lift, adding hanging silk draperies in the massive cafes area to soften it and add a touch of decor from the Indian Ocean, if only in the nature of the fabric chosen. They'll also expand the bar menu, which is fairly limited at the moment, although the cocktails offered are quite unique and inspiring, even before your opinion has been influenced by the generous alcohol pour.

They also intend to move the lobby from its out of the way location, to front and center, which I believe will be a logical and welcomed change. If there are additional changes in mind, Mohan is not saying, and we'll just have to wait for the unveiling.

The Blue has 100 deluxe guest rooms, including 36 loft rooms with city and harbor views. Be careful to request the marina side of the hotel, as it is clearly more picturesque, facing the lovely yachts, park, and city. The rooms on the other side of the hotel, while technically facing a harbor, are relatively unexciting views, except when the occasional naval vessel is docked.

The rooms are a modern, sophisticated design, with muted beiges and white, accented with blue chairs and couches, brown linen, and the occasional red pillow. There is an oversized work desk in most of the rooms, wireless high-speed access, cordless phone, 27" T.V. (soon to be converted to Plasma), Bose CD Player, VCR, king-size beds with pillow-top mattresses, 250 thread count sheets, goose-down comforters and pillows. There are even some pocket-sized office supplies in the work area: a tiny stapler, scotch tape and highlight pen in a sleek brown leather box came in very handy as I wrote my article and organized my materials.

There are seven different room categories: The Wharf Room (575 AUD), the Woolloomooloo Room (675 AUD), the Pier Rooms (775 AUD), the Marina Rooms (875 AUD), the Pier Lofts (775 AUD), the Marina Lofts (875 AUD), and the Ultra Loft (2000 AUD). I stayed in the Ultra Loft, a huge duplex with skylights and windows running the entire length of the room and overlooking the yachts below and a bedroom above with a small bathroom (Aveda travel-sized products), but managing a bath and separate shower and a small closet, the latter being inadequate in relation to the largess of the room. I personally didn't care for the separate space, going up and down the stairs rather continuously for something or other I forgot to bring up or down the stairs, or trying to turn off 12 lights without a master switch.

I preferred instead, the Marina Room, with equally panoramic views (marina side) and much larger bathrooms, despite the fact that there is no separate living space and the overall space is considerably smaller. Without doubt, it is the best value room, with identical amenities to its big brother counterpart. Rates may vary during high season. Guests I met were charming, and demographics are approximately, 50% Australian, followed by the United States, New Zealand, India, and Asia, in varying percents and in descending order.

In short, staff is friendly and efficient, housekeeping, including turn-down service, quite sufficient, Mohan is a soft-spoken, sophisticated treasure, and the anticipated changes in softening the ambience will be anticipated. Guests may be put off only by small bathrooms and closets in huge suites, the ultra-modern and somewhat disorienting entry, and the lack of an on-site restaurant, but there are plenty of lovely restaurants just outside the front door, lining the marina, a reasonable room alternative for guests in which a large ensuite is desirable, and as for the historic roots as a warehouse for wool, one can either reject it as an architectural concept, or revel in man's capacity to adapt structures for alternative use, when the initial function no longer suits.

Pleasing alternatives are the Park Hyatt Sydney, a location over-looking the Opera House, with views of it from most rooms, and adjacent to the Rocks market, cannot be exceeded anywhere in Sydney. The InterContinental Sydney, despite its lesser location has spectacular views from the 31st floor Club InterContinental Lounge available to guests on premium floors with an additional cost. I particularly enjoyed the Mint Restaurant. Jeff Campbell appears to be Sydney's celebrated chef of the moment. Following a jet-set career that has taken him to Japan, London and France he has spent three years in the company of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver where he collaborated on many of the well known Naked Chef television programs and Naked Chef books. His creations are divine.

No Opel Corsa OPC for the US Market

Europe's much-awaited fuel-efficient small hatch, the Corsa OPC from General Motors' Opel European brand will roll out in markets across the continent anytime this month. The Opel Corsa OPC made its world debut at the 77th annual Geneva International Motor Show early this March and dubbed as the "most powerful Corsa ever". Why? Because it is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo engine capable of pumping out 192 horsepower (141 kW) and produces 169 pound-feet (230 Nm) amount of peak torque, combine with a six-speed manual gearbox powering its front wheels. Acceleration from zero to 62 mph can be achieved in 7.2 seconds with an electronically controlled top speed of 139 mph. Upgrading with GM power programmer can boost the Corsa OPC's performance.

General Motors Corp. has a very high expectation for this vehicle in terms of sales due to the rapidly growing consumer demands for fuel-efficient small cars in Europe and in the United States. Does it mean that General Motors would also bring the Corsa OPC to U.S. showrooms?

No. According to a report from the San Francisco online (www.sfgate.com), General Motors' Opel division will not bring the Corsa OPC in the U.S. anytime soon. This is because of some economic factors like the different range of gas prices in Europe and United States. In an interview with Robert Lutz, Vice Chairman for Global Product Development of General Motors Corporation, he said: "Europe and the United States are two different worlds. We could sell the OPC here (Europe) and make money because gasoline is near $6 a gallon. If we had $6 gasoline in the United States, we could sell it there at a profit, too."

"But it is unlikely that Americans would buy a little car at $30,000 when they are paying $2.50 for gasoline. We need $6 gasoline in the United States to make sense of the Corsa OPC in that market." he added.

Lutz was also asked if they will bring the other GM branded European fuel efficient models in the US. and said: "We also sell many fuel-efficient models in America. But the mix of smaller, more fuel-efficient models is bigger in Europe than it is in the United States. We need gasoline of 6 bucks a gallon to change that equation in America. If America really wants more fuel-efficient cars, which will mean more smaller models, it's up to the government to establish parameters in which that market will work."

GM's decision is final and Americans will not be able to see the Opel Corsa OPC to arrive in dealer showrooms.

BMW Hydrogen 7: Bliss Or Anathema?

The German automaker BMW earlier announced its upcoming vehicle known as the BMW Hydrogen 7. The vehicle serves as the worlds first hydrogen-powered luxury performance car. It will be manufactured in a limited edition in Europe and will be later on sold to the American market.

The BMW Hydrogen 7 is a hydrogen vehicle that is equipped with cutting-edge BMW body parts to complement its powerful yet environment-friendly nature. It is based on the chassis of the standard 7-series. Its internal combustion engine is capable of running on either hydrogen or gasoline. The engine of the vehicle is powered by a 260kW, 12-cylinder engine and accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 9.5 seconds. The top speed is limited electronically to 229km/h. The hydrogen technology imbibed in the vehicle trims down emissions of carbon dioxide. When the vehicle is running in the hydrogen mode, it emits nothing but vapor.

The coming of BMWs green car is given enough publicity and aspirations. Leave it to BMW to come up with a viable alternative to fuel cells, electric propulsion, and storage batteries, Automobile magazine said of the BMW Hydrogen 7. Nevertheless, the introduction of said vehicle leaves so many questions unanswered. Will it be considered as an anathema or would it be the other way around?

Like money, hydrogen is plentiful but not easily obtained, wrote Don Sherman in one of the issues of Automobile. The most noticeable difference between the two fuel modes [hydrogen and gasoline] is a sharper, more metallic edge to the engine note during acceleration on hydrogen. Only by listening carefully can you hear the gurgle of the engine coolant circulating to warm the chilly hydrogen for combustion. Sherman concluded, BMWs Hydrogen 7 is encouraging evidence that pistons and spark plugs could survive to entertain us for decades to come in the era of carbon-free fuel.

One of the first journalists to drive the BMW Hydrogen 7 is BBC News business reporter Jorn Madslien. He assessed whether the vehicle is indeed a green initiative or a cynical market trap. Behind the powerful and efficient car is a set of auto drawbacks. The worst so far is finding refueling stations.

"We don't have a problem about saying it is a marketing exercise," admitted Timm Kehler. Kehler is the person responsible for marketing BMW's early developments and innovation projects. The saving grace lies on the taking of a long-term commercial risk. "It shows the company can respond quickly to increases in the price of fossil fuel," Kehler said, adding that as the world will eventually run out of oil and gas "we'll need to start this now if we want to exist in the future".

BMW has already received plenty of offers from politicians and executives, scientists and athletes, celebrities and other famous personalities, all eager to help "create visibility for hydrogen. Among the long list of popular people are Madonna, Al Gore, David Suzuki and Arnold Schwarzenegger. They are queuing up to endorse the car and perhaps further boost their own green images in the process.

"All innovation invokes expensive solutions that can best be pumped into the market from the top end," explained Kehler. "Here we have customers who are affluent and who are committed to technology. They are in a position to pay for technology that may prove to be the status symbols of the future."

Despite the apparent shortfalls, the project is about much more than merely marketing, Kehler explained. "I think the car itself shows you it is not just a faade." Wolfgang Leder of Total Deutschland's new energy team added, "What we see here is a far reaching, advanced and mature technology. We want people who invest in filling stations to know there are users out there."

"Hydrogen is an energy carrier," Leder pointed out. There are several ways to produce it. Wind power would be the best, or solar." On a positive note, BMW's marketing and brand manager, Torsten Muller-Otvos, predicted, "One day, even petrol and diesel will have to compete with hydrogen.

Maxoderm Cream: Why Maxoderm Cream Makes Pills Seem Obsolete!

Men resort to all kinds of measures - pumps, pills, stretching devices, some of them dangerous, with a view to maximizing erection size and enhancing sexual performance. Magazines and newspapers are bombarded with advertisements of virility pills that claim to increase your penis size. They also tell you that it will not take less than three to four weeks for their products to show results, if any!

Maxoderm cream is a 100% natural and safe enhancement product that starts working instantly. Maxoderm has been scientifically formulated with Vasotran Auctum, a patent pending formula. It is a unique herbal blend that uses transdermal delivery to facilitate blood flow to the penis. Regular use of Maxoderm cream increases size, prolongs erection, intensifies orgasm and enhances sexual performance. Maxoderm cream has powerful vaso-dilation properties, and also creates a stimulating sensation in the user, the only male enhancement formula that you can feel working even when you apply it for the first time on your penis.

Maxoderm uses the new approach of transdermal delivery, which represents a scientific breakthrough, rendering oral delivery methods obsolete. By this method, substances are absorbed in the body through the skin. The active ingredients in Maxoderms formula, applied directly to the penis, are immediately absorbed into the blood stream at the desired area and begin to work at once. 95% of the Maxoderm cream formula is absorbed into the desired area, and hence your investment in this product is also totally realized.

The Maxoderm cream formulation uses vaso dilation, a term derived from vascular, which means blood circulation. A vaso-dilator expands the blood vessels, allowing more blood to flow into a specific area, in this case, the penis. Maxoderm cream contains Vasotran Auctum, a proprietary formula with vaso dilation properties, which leads to increased blood flow to the penis, resulting in a significant increase in erection size.

Maxoderm cream also gives you great value for your money. It has been seen in studies that when substances are taken orally, only 5% reaches the cells where they are required. The rest is discarded by the body and goes waste. With topically applied Maxoderm cream on the other hand, 95% of its formula reaches the targeted area, giving you a 100% return on your investment.

Maxoderm cream combines the properties of Vasotran Auctum with an aloe based lotion, and gives rise to a tingling, pleasurable sensation at the time of application. You may apply the lotion yourself, or you can ask your partner to apply it for you, thereby making it a part of your foreplay which both of you can greatly enjoy.

Some men have reported that their penis felt extra sensitive after the first application of Maxoderm cream, which went away after a couple of days. No other side effect has been reported. People with a history of cardiac or circulatory problems have to exercise caution.

Aging and Your Skin - Real, Practical Advice

Everywhere you look, someone is selling the magic potion for looking young. But really, do any of these potions and lotions work? Or are you better off to use natural solutions to help defy aging? Better yet, what even causes the aging to start in the first place?

We've heard the same things over and over; use sunscreen every single day, don't smoke, stay active and eat foods rich in nutrients and antioxidants. So may of us tune out the advice we've heard a million times over, easily attributing our future fight with fine lines to heredity. After all, if mom has them, we will too.

However, studies are showing that might not be the case; in fact, these studies are showing that genetics might only account for 10-20 percent of skin aging and the rest might well be up to you. Here are some steps to save your skin.

When you wander the skin care aisle at your local store, you will notice that there are dozens of products to choose from and it's easy to get confused. Dermatologists agree that a simple skin care routine is best. Although it may be tempting to purchase all the pretty packages, if your routine become too complex and high-maintenance, you won't stick to it.

Wash twice each day with a mild cleanser to keep your pores clear and then use an anti-wrinkle serum. Use moisturizer in the morning with a minimum SPF of 15 and switch to a cream with alpha hydroxy acids or retinal at night to encourage exfoliation and regeneration of skin cells. Finally, use an exfoliator two to three times per week for 'smooth like a baby's bottom' skin.

Exercise, exercise, exercise!! When you're moving and your heart is pumping at an increased rate, in sends blood rich in oxygen through your body. Your cells need the blood to function properly, plus, there is nothing "old" looking about freshly flushed skin.

Eat a diet full of proteins, healthy fats, good carbohydrates and fresh fruits and veggies. Protein is made up of amino acids, which are the building blocks that your cells use to repair themselves. Healthy fats, like those found in fish and avocados, have a natural and powerful anti-inflammatory effect to help keep skin supple.

One of the worst things you can eat? Sugar. As it breaks down, it binds to the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, and weakens them so that they're more likely to crack and break - in the end, your wrinkles begin to sag. In turn, this makes your wrinkles look more obvious.

Learn how to unwind after a stressful day - recent studies show that being constantly wound up and on the go leaves your body in a perpetual state of "fight or flight" which creates wrinkles. Not only that, the hormones released when you're in a heightened state can lessen your immune system and make you more likely to get sick. Don't forget to catch your zzz's. If you're not sleeping, your skin won't get enough time to repair itself.

Protect yourself against pollution in the air and stay away from cigarette smoke. When dirty air is inhaled, it's absorbed into your body and bloodstream. When this pollution makes its way to the surface, your skin shows the damage.

Your best bet is to use common sense when it comes to caring for your skin. Remember that the sun is hot and damaging and even though it feels good, it can hurt you. Get plenty of rest and take a couple of brisk, 15-minute walks during the day to unwind and reduce your stress level. Be healthy; defy aging.
